Outside Activities this week in Decatur!

Physical activity is important for everyone and can produce long term health benefits.  Children ages 2-5 should be active several times each day.  Choose a developmentally appropriate activity like playing catch with a soft and relatively large ball, running around the yard, or playing at the playground together.  Children and adolescents ages 6-17 should spend an hour or more each day being active, climbing, jumping, running, etc.  The USDA recommends that adults age 18-64 be moderately active for 2.5 hours each week.  Visit choosemyplate.gov for details and additional recommendations on leading a healthy and active lifestyle!
